At the age of six, he began writing and studying under his mother's supervision, dedicating himself to the world of ink for over fifty years. His artistic career is a history of hard work building foundations and innovation breaking through obstacles. Based on his profound traditional education, he stands out in the expansion of calligraphy and the expression of brush and ink, and is revered as the founder of the "Yang's calligraphy". His artistic achievements have been internationally recognized, and he has been awarded honorary doctorates from Colorado University of Engineering and the United Nations Ambassador for World Peace Culture. Yang Hanru's artistic achievements emphasize the deep inheritance and systematic breakthrough of traditional calligraphy. He visited the inscriptions of various dynasties, meticulously studying the six ancient styles (seal script, clerical script, regular script, cursive script, cursive script, and classical Chinese), and deeply grasped their essence. However, its extraordinary feature lies in not being limited to ancient methods, but in its extraordinary creativity and academic perspective, expanding the traditional six character refined research into more than 20 new styles and expressions with unique artistic charm, such as the "Iron Wire Seal Variant" that integrates ancient and modern elements of seal script, the "Flying White Wave Style" that uses Han bamboo slips to strengthen the rhythm of waves, and the "Wei Kai New Style" that combines the grandeur of Wei steles and the flow of running grass. This rational creation based on a profound traditional foundation systematically enriches the expressive dimensions of Chinese calligraphy, fills multiple gaps in the calligraphic lineage, and is a substantial contribution to the treasure trove of Chinese calligraphy art. In terms of brush and ink techniques, Yang Hanru demonstrated astonishing mastery and expressiveness. His writing is known as the "iron pen crisscrossing", and his representative work "Heaven and Earth's Righteousness" is written in large characters on two zhang of paper, with strokes like a sword, moving against the sharp edge, and ink like cast iron and gold. The characters are majestic, dangerous, and full of grandeur; And the Heart Sutra is written in small regular script with a fine brush like a hair, yet it penetrates through the back of the paper. The characters are ethereal and clear, revealing a pure and serene Zen spirit in every inch. Whether it's a huge bulletin board or a delicate small regular script, it can be written with ease and meaning. His works have a majestic and vigorous atmosphere, full of tension and rhythm in their lines, and contain profound traditional brushwork in a strong visual impact. This style, which perfectly integrates solid foundation, grandeur, and innovative form, is the core characteristic of its "Yang style calligraphy". Yang Hanru's artistic influence has long surpassed national borders. His footprints spread throughout China, he visited more than 20 countries for cultural exchanges, and wherever he went, he spread the seeds of Chinese calligraphy art. He serves as the Vice President of the World Intangible Cultural Heritage Research Institute and actively promotes the dissemination and recognition of Chinese calligraphy on the world stage. As a special gift for state guests, his works have become an elegant business card for cultural diplomacy. Yang Hanru's path in calligraphy is not only a tenacious practice of "sitting on a bench for ten years", but also a brave exploration of "brush and ink should follow the times". From the rural areas of Linquan to the international stage, he has been tirelessly cultivating for over half a century. While inheriting a thousand year cultural heritage, he has injected new vitality into the ancient art of calligraphy through rational and creative exploration. The establishment of the "Yang's Calligraphy Style" lineage and exemplary works such as "Heaven and Earth Zhengqi" and "Heart Sutra" not only marks the high maturity of personal art, but also provides a systematic methodological reference for contemporary innovation in Chinese calligraphy through both academic and artistic practices, with profound disciplinary construction significance.
