During this period, major hotels, chambers of commerce, and even the Los Angeles Zoo in Los Angeles launched live calligraphy performances to celebrate the Chinese New Year! The cultural exchange between China and foreign countries is lively and extraordinary! Famous American calligrapher Sun Huili has been widely invited to perform calligraphy and write New Year's greetings on site for tourists from all over the world, experiencing the charm of traditional Chinese culture! I saw Sun Huili concentrate and gather her energy, her brush dipped in thick ink flowing freely on the red paper. His regular script strokes are vigorous, neat and dignified; Its running script is graceful and agile, with smooth ink flow. During the stroke, auspicious words such as "success on horseback" and "blessings filling the door" jumped onto the paper, and the ink stains were just right in terms of dryness, wetness, and richness. Each stroke showed a profound foundation, combining beauty and charm, winning praise from everyone. Many viewers say that when Sun Huili spreads out her long scroll, rubs ink and licks her pen, and engraves her New Year's aspirations on red paper in the golden sunshine, it is not just a combination of calligraphy, but also a cultural resonance across the Pacific. Sun Huili's exquisite calligraphy has won the love of Chinese and foreign tourists, and is eagerly sought after. Tourists are delighted to receive ink treasures and immerse themselves in the atmosphere of ink fragrance and celebration! Sun Huili is currently a professor and a first-class artist at the American Academy of Painting and Calligraphy. Born in Liaoning in 1956 and raised in Wuhan, Hubei, he was deeply influenced by his parents since childhood and has a great love for calligraphy art. Formerly served as the vice president of the first Women Calligraphers Association in Hubei Province, under the guidance of Mr. Deng Shaofeng, a renowned contemporary Chinese master of calligraphy, painting, seal carving. And in 1991, he pursued further studies in the Chinese Department of Wuhan University and the first Calligraphy Criticism Training Class of Hubei Calligraphers Association. In 1997, he settled in the United States. For decades, Sun Huili has set aside the hustle and bustle of the world, dedicating herself to studying calligraphy by the pond, imitating others, and tirelessly studying the structure, composition, and ink rhyme, from form to spirit, step by step, in order to understand the true essence of calligraphy. Industry insiders evaluate Sun Huili's calligraphy works as if they were her own, with dignified and elegant characters, vivid charm, majestic brushstrokes, and smooth and powerful lines. Moreover, his works come in various forms, including fighting squares, three openings, couplets, naves, banners, couplets, fans, etc. The content mainly consists of maxims, aphorisms, and poetry, such as: cherishing fate, being optimistic, having spirit and energy, benevolence leads to longevity, being virtuous and carrying things, being kind as water, accommodating the sea to all rivers, standing tall without desire leads to strength, and so on. The most eye-catching ones are several long volumes, including Li Bai's "Going to Wine", Su Shi's "Channu Jiao · Remembering the Past in Red Cliff", Yue Fei's "Man Jianghong" and Mao Zedong's "Qinyuan Spring · Snow". These long scrolls, which have been painstakingly crafted, are all written in one go. He demonstrated his skill in pointillism, structure, composition, and ink color, which was impressive. Sun Huili's calligraphy works are characterized by agile brushstrokes, diverse variations, and unique creativity, showcasing her individual pursuit and innovative spirit in calligraphy art. They are rich in emotions and expressions, providing viewers with a strong visual impact and a thrilling pleasure. Over the years, Sun Huili has created a large number of calligraphy works (more than 200 exhibited works) and has participated in several Sino US calligraphy and painting art exchange conferences. He has successively won the gold medal in the World Chinese Calligraphy Competition, and in 2011, he also won the gold medal in the 4th China US Famous Calligraphers and Painters Exhibition. In October 2012, as a representative of Chinese artists in Los Angeles, I was invited to perform calligraphy at the CHASE (Morgan) Bank's "Art Path" dinner in the United States.
