Along with Fan Yang, Ma Haifang, and Wang Xijing, he is known as one of the Four Great Masters and the inheritor of the Xu Jiang system of Chinese figure painting. Jiang Yaonan is the first Chinese painter of Guanyin Since ancient times, many people have painted Guanyin, but Jiang Yaonan's Guanyin painting is unique. There are roughly three types of Guanyin portraits throughout history: the "Wu Family Style" based on the painting style of Wu Daozi in the Tang Dynasty, the "Ding Family Style" based on the painting style of Ding Yunpeng in the Ming Dynasty, and the "Bodhisattva Style" mainly composed of folk painters. These Guanyin styles have exaggerated shapes (such as a large head and short body). Solemn and solemn, with meticulous and colorful strokes. Jiang Yaonan's portrait of Guanyin is based on the image of women in daily life, drawn using freehand brushwork, with simple and vivid lines, varying shades of ink, and elegant and refined colors.
